back again--trip #1

Post by Guest on Sat 06 Jul 2013, 6:02 pm

First topic message reminder :

went bush with a couple of mates--a real eye opener.
we took 2 vehicles and I cant believe how much water is still lying around--even the road to the Peawah would be a trap for young players--still 2-3 weeks from being open.

Went to the area known as Yandiyarra with 2 mates who have permission..done the sight seeing thing and yes swung the detector to be sure..crossing creeks seen one vehicle bogged but the other cruiser came to the rescue and we were on our way again. While exploring for new ground we got the lead vehicle stuck in a wet area high in the mountains--unbelievable to see water up so high in a small valley and no gum trees to be seen anywhere. ...

this part of the country has deep gold and the use of 25" coils plus is the way to go. Most holes were at least a foot deep and we are led to believe some nice gold-15 plus ozs came out of these craters..pity they weren't filled in.

It was if we were on a journey set down by De havelland--great country and some areas were littered with rubbish..the 3 of us all found a few pieces and ended up with about 1/2 ounce...

from the donkeys to a lone scrub bull trying to find a wife, the journey was entertaining and a worthwhile expedition, funny enough we didn't hear any dingoes and it wasn't till the last day that we saw a few roos on the bound..

One of the partners in crime could snore like no other--absolutely unbelievable I have never encountered animal like it in all these years. How his poor wife puts up with that racket is beyond belief.

And to the couple of hedland fellas that we met at top camp--it was a pleasure chatting with both of u..

3 days of rest and hopefully back out there somewhere again.

regards
oneday

I totally agree with snapper, when out in the scrub, save water and wash once a week.  and when ya get real wiffy, blame it on ya dog and the mad camel who comes into your camp  Razz
Or better still, blame it on the guy wearing the tutu  lol!

Wow guys, come on. We have a shower every night. There's no way I get into my swag covered in dirt and crap. You feel heaps better, attract heaps less fly's and water is only as far away as a windmill, spring, bore or Station/lease holder. That and eating like a king are the only rules we follow, Very Happy

PHEWWW.....I can smell you blokes from here
In the warmer months you cant beat a quick tub every 2nd night. 1 bucket to wet down.....soap up.....then 2-3 buckets to rinse off.

I used to live on a lease with a shower on site,
now im on a new lease there are no facilities so useing 3 to 4 buckets of water for a wash is impossible, as it is i drive once a week into to town to top up my water, i can get away with washing in just a litre or 2 of water each day, this is the lifestyle i have chosen while out here in the WA goldfields,
Now if i hapen to find a nice female partner then things would have to change qwk;ec

No worries Snapper, that was more directed at us eastern state prospectors. We have had plenty of rain and the creeks and dams are chockas....you just have to watch the monster Tiger leaches.
The only way you could do that over in WA would be if you were close to a Windmill and trough.
Nothing wrong with a cold tub.....soothes the aching bones.

I got the idea from a forum, but here goes.

Buy a 3litre spray pak from Bunnings. Cut the lance down as far as possible, fill with warm water and pump up pressure.

You can have a great shower with less than the 3 litres.

If the water is too hot ,hold away from body.

As I said, it's not my idea but I have tried it and it works very well.

I was just being sarcastic  spank
me, I use the occassional wet wipe but once in the scrub I definitely don't waste water washing, that's me.  If I smell, there's no one to complain, except the mad camels, wild goats (I think they love me  Razz )   and any wild horses take one wiff and they are gone  lol!
OK, I'm a brute who needs Brut
