Absolutely fantastic photo's Golden.

They bring back many dear memories of my younger days prospecting in Victoria, the Garfield wheel,
the Forrest ck diggings, Castlemaine and chewton, friers creek and the Vaughan area, all very rich and proud aussie Historic sites, and no doubt still giving up there gold to the dedicated gold prospector.

England may have their roman relics and coins etc, but when you step onto australian goldfield history armed
with your tools of the trade, it gives you a heart fealt tingle of respect, dignity and thoughts of the latter day
goldfield legends, 3oz a day, holes that bottomed on 200oz, sly Neck Oil shanty's and chinese opium dens where the weary rum filled digger could get off tap for the night, Rolling Eyes and wayside knock shops
where you could trade gold for a good time, Very Happy geez sounds like Kalgoorlie these days Razz Razz

Sheeps head gully near the Garfield wheel gave up some of the best gold per yard, so did hundred foot hill
at Castlemaine where the average hole was expected to give up 800oz of gold from memory.

Ahhh they where the days, sure the lads had Trap hunts, and plenty of Shicer holes, but they were a dignified
and proud bunch of new australian gold diggers, they set the wheels in motion for government and a just and
even way of lifestyle that so many of us these days forget who we actually owe that great lifestyle to Shocked

Ther's one thing that still rings true whether you are a born aussie, or if you emigrated to austarlia, or even
if you live overseas and hunt for gold! ..... All men are equal on any goldfield. Very Happy
