Vehicle retrieval from a bog.

Room for thought with this idea, although in this situation there were enough of them to lift the vehicle out.  Suspect

Hi peter and ray, I have a set of the original maxitracks and never go anywhere
without them on board. Have saved my bacon more than once.

Good one Nightjar. Of course they could have saved some time by burying the spare tyre vertically rather then going to the trouble of filling the bag

Hey Bignuggs, they left all the camels in WA after the early gold rushes, don't ever have a problem drying the plates either.

I have seen something similar to this used up the cape. Except it was like an extra rim bolted to the tyre and the snatch strap around it. I've realised a lot of people in the goldfields don't believe in big mud tyres, but they really do have so much more to offer. Especially when you deflate them to 6 or 8 psi- the track of the tyre gets so much bigger. Also a sand anchor and a hand winch work wonders for people without a vehicle mounted winch.
