Burnies Patch this weekend-27-9-2014

Post by Guest on Thu 25 Sep 2014, 7:07 pm

I need to go out to were we were dry blowing last year out at burnies to do a bit more exploration work
and to tidy up a couple of loose ends plus do a bit of detecting Saturday arvo and sunday.

If anyone wants to come out there we will be out on the western side--if u follow the fence line along the base of the quarries --then u will see me --the same side as the sun sets...just so u don't get lost.

The tractor will be out there as well.

we will be having the usual BBQ so bring your own and a few drinks or whatever--plus yah swag.

u will see the 2 big heaps of dirt so we wont be far from that..u wont get lost--channel 38 uhf---to b sure.

leaving the workshop about 12.30 but will take me an hour coz I have to drive the backhoe out there.
a couple of the boys will be setting up.

a good time to b had with a good crew.

mate went out again this weekend but we should have stayed home--bloody hell we all got a red dirt shower big time--they forecast dusty conditions but we never heard the weather report..

but all good a bit of gold helps make the day worthwhile and forget about the dust.

the winds are from the West and they were on a mission--

coz we were clearing some vegetation under a POW-P and had station owners permission --the dust was fine clay and the strength of the winds turned us into creatures of the crab hole country.

mate we were that covered in dust --we were going to put our hands up for land money--that was the worst day I have ever had prospecting and felt sorry for the visitors that came out there..

but we did manage to find 10grams late Saturday night early sunday morning befor the dust storm really got cranking.

Just shy of an ounce but very hard work.

well it was a better weekend than the last one....no dust thank god

Mind u the temps were 45* and the aircon in the tractor has given up the ghost but still managed to get about 6grams between us and a little iron stone specy...and bloody hard work.

another little haul with the help of a bit of muscle power

some may ask why I keep going--simple--the lack of success is the motivator.

Good stuff Ray especially given the temps, my old boss used to always say to me 'Darren, with perseverance and a pot of vasoline you can stretch a mosquito's ass over an average size wash tub " but yeah stick too looking for the gold out there.
