Final swing for 2014

Post by Nosralt on Sun 28 Dec 2014, 2:14 pm

Dragged Banjo out for a final 2014 swing yesterday.
Headed to yet another spot i wanted to check out, and no sooner
did I get set up I pinged a couple of subbies. Thought this will be another good day for both of us.  wegr
Darren was still playing with his 5000 while i opted just to give the 2300 a swing for the day. We gave the area a go for a couple of hrs, but nothing else came our way, so we headed back to Banjos "just in time". We had seen a few deep holes in the area and Banjo wanted to try his luck for something "chunky" while i searched the edge of the hill to see if there was another patch with the 2300. No luck so I headed down further below the patch where i picked up another 5 subbies and 3 nice species. Banjo changed over to his 2300 but still no luck, I guess it wasnt his day.. He couldnt even keep track of what he did with his hat, confused  but thats another story.

They cleaned up nice Terry, yes you took the honors yesterday, you had your first bit near the car while i was still farting around with my gear Laughing

I definitely wasn't in the right frame of mind, i seem to be always struggling with my gear despite not scrimping on anything and the hat saga just about sent me into a hissy fit
So we arrived at the second spot and i couldn't find my hat, i looked everywhere, twice Evil or Very Mad , Terry said to use his spare one and offered the keys for me to go back to the first spot to find it, i was too p*ssed off and thought #$@% it, i don't care if i get toasted, so i must of turned around and Terry said its stuck to your camelbak and came over and pulled it off and handed it to me and said this will make for a good laugh on the forum, bloody velcro Laughing

Was ok early when the breeze was around but we both struggled later, drinking enough fluids but the hot sun beating down on your scone takes it's toll.

Hillbillies huh, well considering i used to wear bib n brace overalls at work and try to play the banjo i resemble that

i even tried the method of having the detector on my lap between spots so i could jump out and grab the best spot Laughing but Terry still gets the coil to the ground quicker than me scratch

all the best to you as well Ray, i will have to practice up on Dueling Banjos so i can sneak off into the bush at night and put the fear of god into you Mexicans affraid
