window mounts

Post by Guest on Tue 30 Dec 2014, 6:17 am

I keep getting peed off with the sucker on my Garmin falling off the windscreen.

apart from mounting it on the dash I don't see any other alternative--a grub screw straight through the base into the dash of the troopy--that might permanently hold the bugger in place.

any other suggestions.

regards

Oneday, I have mine screwed to the overhead console. Works well. Also have the reverse camera & uhf as well as dash cam & 1/2 ton of other sht up there. Must have a clean up oneday. Regards Ken.

Ended up sewing the base to the dash map Ray, no holes in dash and stays in place.

Ray the last Garmin Nuvi I bought came with a little round disk about 60mm in diameter. It has a self adhesive back side and sticks very well to the wrinkly dash vinyl on the Isuzu. I stuck it on when I picked the truck up in Brisbane and has put up with quite a few off road bumps and corrugations and that truck rides like a dray. The suction pad sticks nicely to the glassy smooth surface.
