home made stone guard

Post by martinjsto on Fri 24 Apr 2015, 3:58 pm

well I got my rear window fixed yesterday after busting it on the last cue trip from a stone ricocheting off the van at a cost of $588 as the insurance didnt cover it so i now also have new insurance. i wont let it happen again so made up a stone guard for the van, its a bit ugly but so am I Very Happy  and it will do the job, just need a bit of black spray for the angle brackets and a few tabs to fix the top down to the top of the van.

Bravo Martin, well done and you will have to take out a patent now.Gees, not cheap for a replacement window all you need is a 12 gramer on the next trip to pay for it.

Cheers

cheers Ttrash, a bit bodgy but it will do the job, cheers. Phil, i figured it will be over the $500 mark and its a shame the insurance wouldn't come to the party but thats why they tell you to read and understand the 30 odd page PDF i guess, anyway a new policy with another company sought them out. they tried hard to keep me but its just deserts IMO. im going to get over an oz on the sandstone trip even if I have to walk to menzies finding it lol so all will be good.
cheers

good stuff. if it protects ya back window, it doesn't have to be pretty.
Shame about the insurance and it's a good topic for discussion.
Cheers
Cliff

PS. Martin, in the second pic, is that the shearers quarters out the back Very Happy
