starting from scratch

Post by dwane on Mon 07 Sep 2015, 4:10 pm

can I get some info on what detector , coils ,etc to start of with. I was thinking maybe mineslab 4500 or 5000 with a couple of coils don`t want to spend to much as coin is hard come
by, unless we get on to a good patch.

g'day Dwane and welcome to the forum.

yes either of those detectors are great machines and are pretty much equal to each other on performance. some will disagree but it really comes down to how much you want to spend.

the SDC would be a great starter detector as well, deadly on anything within 12 inch depth. and simple to use

mate before shelling out $1000,s  on a new hobby maybe get out mt magnet way and hire a detector from  there for a few days and see if you like the heat, fly's and frustrations lol!

good luck out there
cheers
