2017 Forum Muster

Post by Bignuggs on Wed 09 Aug 2017, 7:15 pm

Well the muster is over for another year.  Small crew this year but a happy crew,  they all found some gold, except me Razz
I didn't take a lot of photo's this year, got some of the camp fire.  I got some video of some tracks but I'm sure you don't need to see them.
Two newbies from Vic came over, father and son team Gary and Allan.  It was their first trip to WA and I gotta feeling they will be back next year.
Some of the guys headed to Meeka and some went home and I'm sure we'll hear from all of them.
Not sure what happened to Russ and Kerry from SA, maybe see them next year.

Just got back from our last trip out, including the muster.
Great week with all - thanks heaps.
Gail pipped me by less than a gram,  Sad as I gave away a 5 grammer to someone in the bush who helped us out!!

Keep looking for the canine prophylactics Cliff!!
Cheers
Phil & Gail

Another muster done & once again enjoyed. Small group but still a lot of fun had. Scrubby was up to scratch with his jokes & with a bit of practice for next year I reckon Gary will have the walking on hot coals mastered....:lol!:Cliff impressed us all by making his own way to bed every night & he even had proper detecting boots - not the thongs of past... Our communal meal was once again a success with full bellys & empty plates at the end. And the icing on the cake was beating Phil on the gold count!!!!! Gota be happy with that. Would've been by more if we hadn't been screwed over by tack man!!!! Beware of White Commodore station wagon with NSW plates in the Laverton area. Likes to sprinkle tacks like confetti.....bastard!!! Looking forward to doing it all again next year.

He was detecting in gumboots so his feet probably would've appreciated a breather too

Cliff. The scales do look like I blitzed him but he did give away a thankyou nugget. I wasn't letting him have one of mine!!! Pretty sure he's still ahead of me for the year so far - by a gram...... Home now for R&R but back out again in a week to take the overall winner crown off him. Maybe I should hide his boots & pack his thongs....

I arrived home safely about noon yesterday after my 46 day and 8820 klm Muster trip.
I must thank Neil, Martin & Karen, Phil & Gale, Cliff & Towser, Bob & Caroline and of course my fellow Mexicans Garry & Allan for their assistance, great company and a great time.
Not in any order,
I found some gold   (not a lot)
I moaned about aches and pains  (quite a lot)
I destroyed 4 tyres   (bloody rocks)
I slept a bit (old age)

Scrubby.

just catching up with the forum guys so apologies for the late reply.
great muster this year and good to see some nice gold found. glad everyone made it home safely with great stories to tell.
good to see you guys here Gary and Alan, we really enjoyed your company for the week, you guys did really well for your first trip over here and I'm sure it won't be the last, maybe next year I will have some nice home brew scotch and rum for ya to sample, hehe..... great effort to all that attended, good to see Oscar and the old fella again and great to catch up with you again Neil, say hello to bob and Caroline for us both...
we came home with only a 0.8g bit for the muster but did well after we left. I finally joined the oz club with a beaut 54 grammar. I will be putting up a separate post with some pics soon. I am attempting to make a casting of it and will post pics of the process soon also.
catch you all again soon we hope, see you Phil and Gail end of month...
cheers all
