$5000 tenement security?

Post by goldpan on Tue 24 Jul 2018, 5:01 am

Hey fellas,
Its been almost 5 years since my first post here, good to be back and i can see some of you old blokes are still kicking around here:)

Ive just managed to find myself a bit of dirt I really like after 5 bloody years! and am pegging some ground for the first time, so still a bit green.
I think I have everything sorted out and good to go...
Question is: What is the 5000$ security for and what are the terms ? any links ?
I can't seem to find any information other than...Give us 5000$ or No license lol.
There are a few old working on the proposed lease and I assume it would be a good idea to photograph and mark the location of these to avoid rehab costs? Yeah I am a total beginner so any advice is really appreciated.
Thanks in Advance.

Goldpan, You don't physically hand over $5000.00, the money is only taken from you if you break the rules.

righto, but it states to pay within 28 days of making the application? So they get the money upfront right?

Does it say pay or lodge the form as security for $5000? Like a promise to pay the bearer if you default. Bearer is the government.

I just called the department in regards to the Bond, you are only signing a authorization declaring that in the event of doing the wrong thing (not meeting your requirement for rehab etc) the 5K bond would come into effect. So No you are not paying 5K out of your pocket at the time of registering your claim/lease "whatever"
