Nice one Stoppsy!

I don't have to do that because my wife finds her own Gold Razz Razz Razz

This is bragging. A mate wears this round his neck every time he goes out. An 8 ounce nugget and $5000
worth of gold chains!!!

Oh... it cost me $1600 to post this-that's what I paid for my Asus laptop 4 years ago Shocked Shocked Shocked

Well done Stoppsy!

I did the same for my wife a couple of years ago. There's a lot of "browny points" in it coming your way.

Hi flying kiwi
I got my 2 rings made by a jeweler in Ktown a few years ago. Great job.
Isugest u find a owner operator jeweller.
Give him your ring size and he can make u a set of rings--mine have quiet a few of
the sub grammers in them.
I wasnt worried about costs--u might want to get a quote--

Hay st--etc..

Re: the prezzy i got the wife

I was going to get wedding rings made from gold i had found, the jewellers I dealt with was not interested in taking my natural gold nuggets to do this job, they said that the gold had to be refined first and that is the only gold they would use, as I only had 9grams of refined gold and time was running out I bought rings, but needed something a little different than the rest so bought a ring that was a "mokume" ring, now that is a one of a kind ring!!

Here is a link to some mokume rings, it is really an awesome age old art.... http://mokume.com/

All the best for getting hitched in Jan Flying Kiwi!!

thanks for the link GPX the Mokume ones are real nice and a bit different.
As far as using your own gold looks like i will need to knock on doors untill i can find someone who will make the effort.

nugget necklaces

Post by albo on Thu 29 Mar 2012, 8:35 pm

Its good to see the love for the spouses is alive & well . the last time i heard of this sort of thing was when a mate of mine out prospecting talked of finding a 10 ouncer & mounting it on a chain so every time she turned around it might cut her head off... happy old couple they were.

Hi Peaky,

I'm rarebreed's wife and he just found a nice little nugget which we were thinking of turning into a pendant aswell, what size is this one if you don't mind me asking? :) Did you get that done in Perth?

Made the good lady smile

Post by skaufman on Fri 25 May 2012, 7:57 pm

Found this locally to Tom Price recently and went to Perth with it.
Went to Allgem Jewellers on Hay Street and they did a very good job.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Nugget originally weighed 34.2g.
Very happy with the result.

Now to find an occassion for her to wear it!

Very Happy
